Naturally occurring impervious cover, such as exposed bedrock, is not included in the impervious class. The data set was derived by acquiring the 2004 imperviousness and the 2003-2007 imperviousness change data sets from the Maine Office of GIS (megis.maine.gov), merging the two to establish a 2007 baseline, and interpreting updates using 2011 1-meter orthophotography from the National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAKP) to reflect 2010/2011 conditions. Funding for this project was provided by a grant from the Piscataqua Regional Estuaries Partnership as authorized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Estuary Program. Purpose: This data set is intended to map the location and distribution of human-made impervious cover in 11 towns in York County, maine. It can be used for water quality and management applications at large scales. Supplemental_Information: Data distribution tile: Partial county Data distribution format: shapefile Note: Town-based vector shapefiles for the study area are available upon request from GRANIT (email: granit@unh.edu).
