Description:
Abstract:
The database contains predicted sea level rise extent layers and baseline layers for the open coast of New Hampshire, the Piscataqua River, and Great Bay and comprise the following eleven scenarios:
p_MHHW_1_foot_slr: Mean higher high water + 1' sea level rise p_MHHW_2_foot_slr: Mean higher high water + 2' sea level rise p_MHHW_4_foot_slr: Mean higher high water + 4' seal level rise p_MHHW_6_foot_slr: Mean higher high water + 6' seal level rise p_MHHW_8_foot_slr: Mean higher high water + 8' seal level rise p_MHHW_baseline: baseline elevations from which the MHHW sea level rise layers were derived p_MHHW_FLOOD_2_foot_slr: Mean higher high water + one percent annual chance flood + 2' seal level rise p_MHHW_FLOOD_4_foot_slr: Mean higher high water + one percent annual chance flood + 4' seal level rise p_MHHW_FLOOD_6_foot_slr: Mean higher high water + one percent annual chance flood + 6' seal level rise p_MHHW_FLOOD_8_foot_slr: Mean higher high water + one percent annual chance flood + 8' seal level rise p_MHHW_FLOOD_baseline: baseline elevations from which the MHHW_FLOOD sea level rise layers were derived
The four data layers that incorporate the 100-year flood are based on the April, 2014 preliminary Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRMs) for Rockingham and Strafford Counties.
Purpose:
The data are intended to provide communities, coastal managers, scientists, and the public with a preliminary assessment of the extent of potential sea level rise.

Process_Description:
Sea Level Rise rasters were developed by ESRC using the methodologies established by AECOM as reported in the related document: "Sea Level Rise Mapping Data - New Hampshire Open Coast, Piscataqua River, and Great Bay". The following describes the general workflow used to process each layer: 1) Convert ZONES to a raster layer based on the elevation value for the given SLR scenario 2) Subtract LIDAR from the raster version of ZONES for SLR1 3) Create SLR2 where values from the SLR1 >= 0 4) Create SLR3 to create pixel clusters 5) Create SLR4 where pixel clusters from SLR3 > 27878 6) Create SLR5 by running the ArcGIS "Fill" geoprocessing tool to fill sinks in SLR4 7) Create SLR6 by running the ArcGIS "Focal Statistics" tool to smmoth SLR5 (using Rectangle Neighborhood and the Majority statistic) 8) Convert SLR6 to integer raster to produce final raster contained in SLR geodatabase
